Breakfast and Lunch is free for all Southwest Middle students. Memo from Brevard Schools Food and Nutrition "Brevard Public Schools (BPS), Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), serves 20,000 breakfasts and 36,000 lunches each day! On average, FNS serves over 3.6 million breakfasts, 6.5 million lunches, 310,000 Super Snacks, and 104,000 Head Start Snacks each year. FNS has participated in the Provision 2 Breakfast Program since 2001-02 which enables us to provide a FREE breakfast to all students. FNS operates 48 schools under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). " Southwest is one of the 48 schools.

Southwest Middle School gates open at 8:30 a.m. School starts at 9:30 a.m. School ends at 4:15 p.m. There is a staggered dismissal schedule. 4:15pm: First round of buses are dismissed. (Only students who ride the buses called on the overhead should be heading to the bus loop.) • Next: Walkers, Bike Riders and Car Riders will be dismissed. (Do not leave till you are instructed to.) • Next: Second round of buses are dismissed. (Only students who ride the buses called on the overhead should be heading to the bus loop.) • Next: An announcement will be made for any remaining bus riders to report to the cafeteria to wait for their bus. • Last: Clubs, Sports, Tutoring, and Dean’s Success Zone will be dismissed to their designated locations. Note: Once dismissed students should report to their designated pick-up area. No one should be wondering the campus at dismissal.
